Inspired by a kiss, the Baci Bar was a design that aimed to create a series of connections. The design attempted to connect people to others within the space as well as the exterior landscape. The concept of the kiss also inspired organic shapes. The space needed to be open, light, connected and casual.

The aim of this project was to provide accommodation acting as a halfway house for people who have gone through drug and alcohol detox programs and are transitioning to everyday living. The concept was derived from a tree. The tree was chosen for it's multiple uses as shelter, a nurturer, provider of food and for its symbolic changes of the seasons. Natural light was minimal in the building. A central atrium was created to provide extra natural light as well as represent the core of a solid tree.
